Groceries and baby food waiting when you arrive

After a long drive or flight, nobody wants to hunt for milk and the right pouches with a tired toddler. Here's how to have them waiting.

Have them delivered to the hotel

Ask the hotel first. Call the front desk: will they take a delivery for you and keep cold items in a fridge until you arrive? Some need notice.
Ask for a fridge. Most suite hotels have one in every room; others lend one if you ask when you book.
Time it for after check-in. Pick a window after you arrive, put the hotel name, your name and room number in the delivery notes, keep your phone on, and meet the driver in the lobby.
Pack a day's worth anyway. Flights run late and stores close. Enough pouches, milk and diapers for the first night and morning buys you time.

Picky about one brand? Some toddlers only eat one kind of pouch, and only some stores carry it. Once Upon a Farm pouches, for example, sit in the fridge case, and in 2023 the brand listed stores such as Target, Walmart, Whole Foods, Costco, Publix, Wegmans, H-E-B, Safeway, Albertsons, Meijer and Stop & Shop (not every location). Fly with it. Airport security allows baby food, pouches, formula and milk in carry-on bags in more than 3.4 ounces. Tell the officer at the start of screening.
Ship a case ahead. Ask the hotel if they accept packages for arriving guests, then have a case delivered to arrive the day before you do.
